Since establishing the On-Site Response Team within the Communication and Cooperation Division in September, Goyang City has conducted a comprehensive survey of unresolved complaints by district and has been actively continuing citizen communication administration by conducting on-site inspections of daily life-related complaints.

During the investigation of unresolved complaints, the city first selected issues requiring on-site verification, and the first visit was to the Byeokjecheon Stream walking trail in Goyang-dong, which boasts the history and tradition of Goyang City.

Byeokjecheon Stream, known as the "lifeline" of Goyang-dong, has become a representative walking trail of Goyang-dong visited by more than 200 people daily since the trail was completed at the end of 2022. However, there have been continuous complaints from residents about the lack of public restrooms along the approximately 2 km trail, causing inconvenience.

Mayor Lee Dong-hwan, who visited the site that day, communicated directly by meeting with local residents including the head of the neighborhood council to listen to their opinions and thoroughly inspected the walking trail section.

He especially focused on confirming the lack of convenience facilities such as public restrooms that cause inconvenience to residents and directly instructed the relevant departments on-site to seek solutions.

A citizen who attended the visit expressed gratitude, saying, "It was impressive to see the mayor personally visit to solve local issues, listen carefully to residents, and communicate on-site."

Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, stated, "Listening to voices from the field is the first step in building trust with citizens," and added, "We will continue to practice communication administration that citizens can feel through field-centered complaint responses."

Meanwhile, starting with this on-site visit, Goyang City plans to frequently visit places where citizens experience daily inconveniences and strengthen on-site communication.
