At the sentencing hearing held on the 20th at the Daegu High Court Criminal Division 2 (Chief Judge Jeong Seung-gyu), the prosecution requested 3 years and 6 months in prison for Global Headquarters Director A, 3 years in prison for Global Business Division Head B, and 2 years in prison along with a fine of 8.2 billion KRW each for Deputy Head C of the Cambodia local corporation.

The prosecution emphasized, "There were many misunderstandings regarding facts and legal judgments in the first trial," and added, "We hope the appeal trial will correct these."

In his final statement, former Chairman Kim Tae-o argued, "Trust is the lifeblood of financial institutions, and it is most frustrating that investigations into the fraudsters are not being conducted while we are the victims."

This case involves defendants accused of attempting to deliver large bribes to public officials through brokers to obtain a commercial bank license in Cambodia. They were acquitted in the first trial.

The sentencing hearing for the appeal trial is scheduled for January 15 of next year.
