Strawberry Siru Cake, Available Only On-site Starting from the 23rd of Next Month

Seongsimdang's 'Strawberry Siru,' which caused an open-run incident last year, is scheduled to be sold again this Christmas. This strawberry cake contains a whole box of strawberries but is priced in the 40,000 KRW range, earning it the nickname 'cost-effective cake' among consumers.

Recently, Seongsimdang revealed the list of Christmas cakes to be sold from the 19th to the 25th of next month. Through its website, Seongsimdang announced that cake reservations are only possible for orders with payment completed by the 15th (starting from the 2nd of next month).

Looking at the Christmas cake lineup, strawberry-based cakes such as Strawberry Siru, Strawberry Mozart, and Boutique Fresh Cake dominate. In addition, there are chocolate cakes like crepes and Kirsch. However, the Siru series will not be available for pre-order and will only be sold on-site starting from the 23rd of next month.

There are two types of Strawberry Siru cakes. The large size (2.3kg) costs 49,000 KRW, and the smaller size, 'Strawberry Siru Maknae,' is priced at 43,000 KRW. Customers can choose only one of the two Siru types, and sales are limited to one per person.

Last year, on social media (SNS), posts appeared showing citizens trying to purchase Seongsimdang's Strawberry Siru cake even before Christmas Eve. Despite subzero temperatures with snowfall, lines of people waiting from early morning to buy the cake continued. People gathered from all over the country posted that they waited anywhere from 4 to as long as 7 hours.
