This activity was part of the ‘Energy Welfare Support 36.5℃ Winter Project’ in which the Yeoju City Council participated, aimed at helping marginalized neighbors spend a healthy and cozy winter during the cold season.
The ‘Energy Welfare Support 36.5℃ Winter Project’ is a program that supports fuel costs so that energy-poor households can maintain a temperature of 36.5℃ throughout the year, and shares warmth within the community through practical energy welfare support activities such as briquette delivery volunteering. This briquette support gained additional significance as about 20 people, including Chairman Park Du-hyung of the Yeoju City Council, city council members, and staff from the council office, participated directly in the delivery volunteer work to practice neighborly love.
Chairman Park Du-hyung said, “Energy welfare is one of the most basic and important forms of welfare in our society. I hope that this briquette support will help marginalized neighbors spend a warmer winter, even if just a little.” He added, “The Yeoju City Council will continue to seek and implement various welfare activities to create a happy Yeoju for its citizens.”
The Yeoju City Council plans to continue its legislative activities that share warmth with the community by providing practical help to marginalized neighbors through various volunteer activities in the local community, as well as promoting energy welfare.
