"Brain Structure at the Level of Recreating the Rule of Law"
On the 20th, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon criticized Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, who mentioned that the revision of the Public Official Election Act is inevitable, saying, "It is time to quit politics and repent."
Through Facebook on the same day, Mayor Oh pointed out, "Lee said that the current Public Official Election Act has too many excessive restrictions, making revision inevitable," adding, "His mindset goes beyond destroying the rule of law to recreating it."

Lee recently received a sentence resulting in the loss of his parliamentary seat in the first trial for violating the Public Official Election Act. In this situation, during a congratulatory speech at a National Assembly forum held that day, he stated, "The current election law excessively restricts election campaigning," and "Moreover, since the current law limits the entry of political newcomers, revision of the election law is inevitable."
Regarding this, Mayor Oh said, "It is hard to believe that this message was released just six days after receiving a prison sentence for violating the election law," adding, "As it becomes harder to shield himself, it seems like an attempt to amend the election law to nullify the judicial ruling against him. This is beyond imagination."
He continued, "The situation of Democratic Party lawmakers, who will be reduced to tools for shield legislation for their party leader Lee Jae-myung, is pitiful," and suggested that Lee quit politics. He added, "That is the way to normalize the Democratic Party, the National Assembly, and the Republic of Korea."
