Chungnam Province announced on the 20th that its project on compiling statistics for multicultural and foreign households received the Excellence Award at the "2024 Regional Statistics Policy Utilization Best Practices Contest" hosted by the Chungcheong Regional Statistics Office at Hotel ICC in Daejeon.
The province collected and analyzed data through a working agreement with the Chungcheong Regional Statistics Office in February last year, and compiled the statistics for the first time in December of the same year.
The statistics processed administrative data from government ministries and public institutions, covering 99 indicators across six areas, including population and households, economic activity, education, and welfare, to more accurately identify the status of multicultural households in the region.
The province was recognized for its comprehensive compilation of statistics on multicultural and foreign households and for establishing customized policies based on these statistics.
The province plans to continuously strengthen policies for the diverse social members of multicultural and foreign households.
A provincial official said, "Our efforts to improve the quality of life for multicultural and foreign households have been recognized," adding, "We will further contribute to improving the quality of life for residents by supporting the establishment of customized policies based on statistics."
