About 40 people attended the meeting, including Mayor Bang Se-hwan, Hwang Myeong-ju, the chairman of the People Power Party Gwangju-eu district committee, Heo Gyeong-haeng, chairman of the city council, provincial council members, city council members, and senior officials of the city hall.
The city conducted in-depth discussions on a total of 31 agenda items, including major issues such as the 2026-2027 Gyeonggi-do Comprehensive Sports Festival, the establishment of a carbon-neutral wood education comprehensive center, the second phase of station area urban development, reflection in the establishment of the 6th national and local road construction plan, large-scale investment projects, proposals for selection of special local taxes and special grants, and securing dependent resources such as local bond issuance.
In particular, the city exchanged broad opinions not only on joint efforts to resolve current issues but also on cooperation plans for the development of city administration.
Mayor Bang Se-hwan stated, “I ask for continuous interest and cooperation so that the win-win cooperation system between the party and government is strengthened and the current issues and mid- to long-term projects faced by Gwangju City can be smoothly promoted.”
Hwang Myeong-ju, the district committee chairman, said, “We will continue to work closely with Gwangju City for the development of city administration and the promotion of current issues, and actively cooperate for the success of the 8th elected administration.”
