[Breaking News] Confirmation of the Abolition of the Gyeongnam Village Education Community Support Ordinance

The ordinance on supporting the activation of village education communities in Gyeongnam was ultimately abolished despite Superintendent Park Jong-hoon's request for reconsideration.

The Gyeongnam Provincial Council held the 2nd plenary session of the 419th extraordinary meeting on the afternoon of the 20th and again conducted a secret vote on the ordinance abolition proposal.

As a result of the vote, out of 62 members present, 55 voted in favor, 5 against, and 2 abstained, finalizing the abolition of the ordinance.

Previously, the ordinance supporting village education communities was abolished at the 1st plenary session of the 418th Gyeongnam Provincial Council extraordinary meeting on the 15th of last month, with 46 votes in favor, 5 against, and 11 abstentions out of 62 members.

In response, Superintendent Park requested the council to reconsider the abolition of the ordinance and continued efforts to revive it by traveling around the province to gather public opinion on whether to abolish the ordinance.
