The Startup Innovation Center at National Mokpo University operates the MNU Maker Space and conducted training on 3D printing and CNC utilization for about 70 employees of HD Hyundai Samho. Through technical and equipment cooperation, it supported 15 prototype productions and over 100 initial mass productions. It was recognized for designing and developing export ship keyhole plugs and collaborative robot calibration jigs through technical cooperation and consulting, earning the grand prize in this contest.

This year, the center supported four early-stage startups in attracting 1.1 billion KRW in investment, created about 90 new jobs, generated 2.8 billion KRW in sales, and helped commercialize over 60 ideas, thereby laying the groundwork for startups to overcome crises and achieve a new leap forward.

Yu Young-jae, head of the Mokpo University Startup Innovation Center, said, “The center has built a multifaceted cooperation network among private sectors, institutions, and government through the MNU Maker Space, and plans to expand and establish infrastructure to enhance corporate accessibility and maximize the efficiency of support policies. This award is a result of our center’s vision as a hub for mutual growth between regional companies and universities being recognized both internally and externally.”

He added, “Going forward, in line with Mokpo University’s glocal university operation, we plan to jointly promote youth talent development and employment linkage programs, fulfilling our role as a central institution for regional innovation growth.”
