From November 20 to 23, the 19th Seoul International Food Industry Exhibition was held for four days, with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Testing Laboratory sponsoring the event, and the Korea Bio-specialized Center Council organizing the ‘Support for Commercialization and Mass Production of Functional Bio-materials Based on Bioactive Components’ project participating in a joint pavilion.
This exhibition served as an opportunity to promote the products and technologies of beneficiary companies of the ‘Support for Commercialization and Mass Production of Functional Bio-materials Based on Bioactive Components’ project, as well as to introduce the project, promote to buyers, network, and publicize achievements in product commercialization, mass production, and development.
Through the joint pavilion exhibition, product and technology introductions were made for health functional foods such as vitamins and menstrual pain chocolates based on beet extract and lotus root extract from DrsCook Co., Ltd., a beneficiary company of this project, and organic cold brew tea and coffee from Ottangs. The exhibition mainly consisted of introductions to new materials for functional foods and new products in the medifood industry, as well as promotion of the ‘Support for Commercialization and Mass Production of Functional Bio-materials Based on Bioactive Components’ project.
The ‘Support for Commercialization and Mass Production of Functional Bio-materials Based on Bioactive Components’ project aims to support the commercialization of advanced bio-materials by assisting domestic SMEs in productizing excellent technologies and new materials, as well as supporting commercialization and marketing. The project is organized by the Korea Bio-specialized Center Council and jointly operated by the Jeonbuk Bio Convergence Industry Promotion Agency, Chuncheon Bio Industry Promotion Agency, and Daejeon University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation.
The organizing body, Korea Bio-specialized Center Council, carries out exhibition hosting and participation support to help products enter the market, supports overseas expansion of companies and products, and expands corporate networking. The Jeonbuk Bio Convergence Industry Promotion Agency and Chuncheon Bio Industry Promotion Agency utilize their personnel and equipment to directly support companies from research and development to mass production of excellent materials and technologies. The Daejeon University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation undertakes tasks such as producing digital promotional brochures, securing distribution channels, and preparing planning reports.
Additionally, during the Seoul International Food Industry Exhibition, the ‘World Food Tech Expo 2024 Conference’ organized by the World Food Tech Council was held at COEX. At the conference, Mr. Ahn Taek-won, chairman of the Korea Bio-specialized Center Council, who participated as a speaker, stated, “The main significance of this exhibition is that it provides an opportunity to introduce the products and technologies of excellent regional companies, thereby supporting their commercialization and export activation.”
