The city of Guri, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 20th that the Department of Nursing at Hallym University, an institution that signed an MOU for nurturing healthcare talent, successfully completed its second half clinical practice and held an evaluation meeting on the 19th.

The practice, which took place over two weeks from August 26 to October 25, involved a total of 30 participants across four groups. The program covered a wide range of public health center projects including community home nursing, oral health, nutrition (Nutrition Plus), physical activity, obesity prevention, smoking cessation and alcohol moderation, AI-based chronic disease management, dementia, vaccinations, and programs at Galmae Health Living Support Center and Sutaek Health Branch.


The evaluation meeting was attended by 15 people including Kim Eun-joo, head of the public health center, Kwon Myung-soon, professor at Hallym University and on-site supervising professor, and staff in charge of the practice departments. They shared overall performance evaluations of the practice and discussed future improvements and challenges.


The city plans to incorporate the various opinions gathered at the evaluation meeting into the next field practice.


Professor Kwon Myung-soon of Hallym University stated, “In the rapidly changing and increasingly complex healthcare system, I hope that the vivid on-site practice has greatly enhanced the work capabilities of the students participating as prospective nurses.”


Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri said, “As improving public health care is very important for the healthy lives of local residents, we will further strengthen the cooperative system with local nursing colleges to nurture professional nursing talent.”
