Daejin University (President Lim Young-moon) and the Daejin International Volunteer Association (Chairman Yoon Eun-ho) practice neighborly love and share warm hearts every year through the kimchi-making volunteer service for helping neighbors in need.
This kimchi-making volunteer service was held with the participation of about 130 people, including Daejin University President Lim Young-moon, members of the Daejin International Volunteer Association, the Daejin University Student Welfare Team, members of the Social Service Group (DUNI), faculty and staff, and officials from the Pocheon City Comprehensive Volunteer Center.
In particular, 80 international students enrolled at Daejin University attended, experiencing kimchi-making, a traditional Korean culture, and gaining a valuable experience of sharing love with neighbors. The 400 heads of kimchi were packed into 50 dedicated boxes and delivered to the Pocheon City Comprehensive Volunteer Center, and were directly distributed to underprivileged neighbors in nearby areas.
The kimchi-making volunteer service for helping neighbors in need is an annual winter event organized by Daejin University and the Daejin International Volunteer Association to create a society where they live together with underprivileged families and marginalized groups in the region, contributing to the local community through a spirit of sharing and caring volunteerism.
Meanwhile, Daejin University conducts various volunteer activities every year, such as rural volunteer work, housing environment improvement projects, briquette donations, apple picking, and mentoring talent donations, aiming to contribute to the local community by creating a society where underprivileged families and marginalized groups live together and by sharing and caring, receiving great interest from the local community and residents.
