As local governments nationwide faced unprecedented financial difficulties due to a decrease in local tax revenues such as grants this year, the city established the Revenue Increase Network last April to accelerate the stable securing and expansion of local revenues. It has been operated in the form of meetings among working-level officials, consisting of about 40 personnel from 20 departments, including affiliated organizations.
At this report meeting, following a general report on the operation of the Revenue Increase Network, the collection achievements of major revenue departments were shared. Measures to supplement shortcomings were also sought, and discussions were held on effective ways to improve collection performance.
As of the end of October, the city has collected 45.9 billion KRW out of the 47.4 billion KRW budgeted for non-tax revenue this year, and is making every effort to increase revenue with a goal of collecting more than 52 billion KRW by the end of the year.
Vice Mayor Park Seong-nam said, “In this difficult economic situation, by forming the Revenue Increase Network and promoting communication and cooperation among departments, we were able to contribute to the city’s finances.”
Going forward, the city plans to continue focusing on securing stable revenues by managing limited income more efficiently through the Revenue Increase Network.
