Kiwoom Securities announced on the 20th that it will hold an event supporting up to $50 for customers trading US stock options for the first time.
The event period is from the 18th of this month to January 17th of next year, providing benefits to the first 2,000 customers on a first-come, first-served basis over two months. Customers who have no US stock options transaction history at the time of event application are eligible.
Immediately upon applying for the event, $30 will be deposited into the account. The deposited amount can be used to trade US stock options. If trading occurs for more than 5 days, an additional $20 will be provided, allowing customers to trade US stock options with up to $50. (However, the initially provided $30 is subject to a 30-day withdrawal restriction.) Unused amounts will be automatically reclaimed 30 calendar days after the application date, and the additional $20 will be subject to a 30-day withdrawal restriction starting the day after the deposit date.
Additionally, from the event application date, US stock option online and offline fees will be set at $1 for 37 days, offering various benefits to customers trading US stock options for the first time.
US stock options are derivatives that give the right to buy or sell the underlying asset (US stocks) at a specified price (strike price) on or before a specific date (expiration date) by paying an option price called a premium. They are characterized by enabling investment in both directions?up and down?of the underlying US stocks through strategies such as bidirectional investment, leverage, and hedging. One US stock option contract grants the right to acquire 100 shares of the underlying US stock or US ETF, and since only the premium is paid, it has a leverage effect. If a decline in the held US stock is expected, purchasing a put option can reduce the risk of price decline.
Kiwoom Securities has expanded the number of US stock option tradable items to 200, providing broader investment opportunities, and has also expanded the US stock option trading platforms from HeroG (HTS) and HeroSG (MTS) to HeroS# (MTS), enhancing customer investment convenience.
