Participation of 11 Companies Including Members of Sinchon Ewha Shopping District Association
Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) announced on the 20th that the ‘Seodaemun Sharing 1% Miracle’ project, which began last October, has recently achieved the milestone of signing its ‘100th store agreement’ thanks to the active participation of local small business owners.
The ‘Seodaemun Sharing 1% Miracle’ is a virtuous welfare circulation project in which the district signs agreements with sharing stores willing to donate a portion of their profits, and the collected funds are used to support vulnerable groups.

On the 14th, the district signed a joint agreement for the ‘Seodaemun Sharing 1% Miracle’ sharing stores with 11 companies belonging to the Sinchon Ewha Shopping District Association, Woongne Seoseo Galbi (97th store), Sujak (98th store), Beer Cabin Seodaemun-gu Office Branch (99th store), and Dapum Korean Medicine Clinic (100th store) at the mayor’s office. Especially, the participation of 11 companies from the Sinchon Ewha Shopping District Association added greater meaning to this project, where small acts of sharing come together to create great strength.
The district attaches certification plaques to stores practicing the value of sharing so that residents can use them more frequently, and promotes them through the district office website, newsletters, blogs, and more.
Jung Youngsook, director of Dapum Korean Medicine Clinic located in Namgajwa 2-dong, which joined as the 100th store, said at the agreement ceremony, “I am grateful to participate in the Seodaemun Sharing 1% Miracle project, and I hope it becomes a source of strength for the health and happiness of those in need.”
The funds raised through this project have produced tangible results through partnerships with low-income vulnerable households. For example, Mr. A, a single elderly person living in a goshiwon, has been paralyzed from the waist down and has had difficulty moving for seven years. Through this project, he was able to receive support for medical expenses and private ambulance fees.
Mr. B, a young adult, was estranged from his father and his mother was undergoing chemotherapy, requiring financial support until he could become independent. Thanks to the sponsorship, Mr. B was able to focus on preparing for employment.
Mayor Lee Seongheon said, “I thank the representatives of the 100 sharing stores who participated in the Seodaemun Sharing 1% Miracle project, and we will use the precious contributions collected to support low-income vulnerable groups with great care.”
