A Place Where Youth Want to Stay, Jungnang!... Jungnang-gu to Host 2024 'Jungnang Meets Youth' Event

"It feels meaningful to be able to directly participate in activities for youth in the area where I live."

This is the impression of a young person who attended the 'Jungnang Meets Youth' event on the 19th.

Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) had a meaningful time communicating and empathizing with young people on the 19th at 'Jungnang Youth Center,' the district's first youth-exclusive space. This event was held at the Jungnang Youth Center, which opened last September, as an opportunity to strengthen exchanges with young people.

The 'Jungnang Meets Youth' event was attended by about 30 youth activists, including the Jungnang-gu Youth Policy Committee, Jungnang Youth Network, and Youth Support Managers. It consisted of the 'Jungnang Youth Network 6th Launch Ceremony' and the '2024 Youth Policy Performance Sharing and Open Discussion.'

In the first part, appointment letters were awarded to the newly appointed 6th committee members of the Youth Network. These 6th committee members will work in four divisions?▲Healthy Living ▲Culture and Arts ▲Jobs ▲Housing and Finance?and will play a role in discovering agendas and proposing policies to solve youth issues in Jungnang-gu for one year.

The 'Jungnang Youth Network' is composed of young people aged 19 to 39 who reside, work, or study in Jungnang-gu. A total of 35 members were selected for the 6th committee, including 23 new members.

In the second part, the achievements of youth activities in 2024 were shared, and participants exchanged their impressions. The results of various youth support programs such as youth employment education, housing guidance, and mind therapy were also reviewed.

During the subsequent open discussion, participants freely diagnosed the current problems of youth policies and exchanged opinions on directions for development.

Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "I hope that through the active activities of the 'Jungnang Youth Network,' policies reflecting the voices of young people will be proposed," and added, "We will actively support these policies to be reflected in actual district administration."

Attendees expressed that through this event, they felt the district is communicating more closely with young people and showed expectations for future policy directions. The district plans to continue actively supporting youth policies and activities centered on the Jungnang Youth Center and to continuously communicate and cooperate to improve the quality of life for local youth.
