Fundraising Goal of 1.58 Billion Won by Mid-February Next Year
Over 100 Participants Including Outstanding Donors, G-Valley Knowledge Industry Center, and Residents to Promote Community Sharing Culture
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that on November 19th, a proclamation ceremony marking the start of the 2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Project was held at the 12th-floor auditorium of Geumcheon-gu Office.
This proclamation ceremony was organized to promote the '2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Project' and to spread a culture of sharing together with the local community.
The Hope Ondol Warm Winter Project is a representative winter neighbor-helping initiative promoted through public-private cooperation between Geumcheon-gu and the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest. The district aims to raise 1.58 billion KRW by mid-February next year. The collected donations will be used for living expenses, medical costs, housing expenses, and more to support neighbors in need within the community.
This year, for the first time, a sharing partnership was established between G-Valley Knowledge Industry Centers and the local community service centers, with 12 knowledge industry centers and 10 neighborhoods in Geumcheon-gu pledging to activate exchanges for regional coexistence.
On the day, the district expressed gratitude by presenting certificates of appreciation to 35 outstanding donors. Additionally, 34 local figures were appointed as the '2025 Our Neighborhood Sharing Campaign Promotion Team' to promote the project and actively identify welfare blind spots.
In the relay donation event, 14 groups of organizations and residents joined the chain of sharing. Anyone wishing to participate in the fundraising afterward can visit their local community service center or the Welfare Policy Division, or deposit funds into the designated Geumcheon-gu account at the Social Welfare Community Chest.
At this proclamation ceremony, a donation kiosk unveiling ceremony was also held to introduce a new fundraising method. Going forward, the district plans to encourage quick and easy donations of desired amounts without the need for separate paperwork by utilizing the donation kiosks.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “I am grateful to the donors who enhance their value through sharing despite difficult economic conditions such as low growth and high inflation,” and added, “We will do our best to keep the warmth of sharing in Geumcheon-gu strong this year as well.”
