Currently, 1.9km of Walkways Completed in Phases 1 and 2
Final Construction in December... One Step Closer to Dobong Dullegil 2.0
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced that the Jungnangcheon Stream Walkway (deck path) construction project has entered its final stage.
The Jungnangcheon Stream Walkway is approximately 5.5 km long, allowing people to walk while overlooking Jungnangcheon from Changpowon to Changdong Jugong Complex 17, and it is a key section of the Dobong Dullegil 2.0 project.
Since 2022, the district has embarked on the Dobong Dullegil 2.0 project and is currently constructing a 21.3 km circular walking trail that includes the Jungnangcheon Stream Walkway, connecting Dobongsan, Seoul Arena, and the Seoul Dullegil.
The Jungnangcheon Stream Walkway construction project is divided into three main phases. Phase 1 covers a 600m section from Dobong-gu Office to Changdo Elementary School and was completed in April.
Phase 2 covers a total of 1.3 km, including the sections from Sangdo Bridge to Nowon Bridge and from Changdong Bridge to Changdong Jugong Complex 17. Construction began in August and was completed this month.
The remaining sections include a 1 km stretch from Changpowon to Sangdo Bridge in the north and from Changdo Elementary School to the confluence with Banghakcheon in the south. The district plans to start construction in December and complete it by April next year.
Of the entire 5.5 km Jungnangcheon Stream Walkway, the 470m section from Seoul Arena to Changdong Bridge, excluding the already installed sections and the sections under the Jungnangcheon Stream Walkway construction project, will be installed by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
On November 19, the district held a progress report meeting on the Jungnangcheon Stream Walkway construction project to inform residents about the current status.
On that day, Mayor Oh Eon-seok of Dobong-gu personally explained the progress to the residents and shared future plans. Mayor Oh said, “Both the Jungnangcheon Stream Walkway (deck path) construction and the Dobong Dullegil 2.0 project are now in their final stages. We will do our best to ensure that all Dobong residents and Seoul citizens can enjoy nature and lead healthy lives through the successful completion of this project.”
