Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, attended the '2024 Yeongdeungpo-gu Kimchi Making Festival' held at the Yeongdeungpo Park Circular Plaza on the 19th and participated in kimchi sharing volunteer work with local residents.
This event was organized to deliver kimchi to neighbors in need during the winter season, adding warmth to their winter meals and practicing warm sharing within the local community.
On this day, about 520 residents, including Mayor Choi Ho-gwon, two institutions, and four organizations, gathered in one place to pack approximately 2,900 boxes of 10kg kimchi made with sincerity. The kimchi will be delivered to neighbors in need through community service centers and welfare facilities, helping to ease their concerns about side dishes during the winter season.
Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, said, “I deeply thank everyone who participated with one heart despite the cold weather, and I hope this kimchi sharing event becomes a warm support for neighbors in need.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to spread a culture of sharing within the local community and create a Yeongdeungpo where neighbors share affection and happiness.”
