Yeoncheon-gun Holds Resident Briefing Session on Dam Area Support Project with Korea Water Resources Corporation

Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province held a 'Dam Surrounding Area Support Project' residents briefing session on the 19th at the Yeoncheon Library audiovisual room in cooperation with the Korea Water Resources Corporation Yeoncheon-Pocheon Branch.

The briefing session was attended by about 40 people, including residents of villages eligible for the dam surrounding area support project and officials from towns and townships. The session proceeded with detailed explanations of local support projects and resident support projects according to the dam surrounding area support project guidelines, introduction of best practices from other cities and counties, and a Q&A session.

A local resident who attended the briefing expressed the opinion, "It seems the time has come for the dam surrounding area support project to shift towards sustainable specialized business items that can generate stable income."

An official from Yeoncheon-gun stated, "We hope that through this briefing session, residents' understanding and participation in the project will increase, serving as an opportunity for the project to be operated more effectively."

Yeoncheon-gun and the Korea Water Resources Corporation Yeoncheon-Pocheon Branch are promoting the dam surrounding area support project targeting 33 villages in 9 towns and townships around Gunam Dam and Hantan River Dam.
