This inspection aimed to minimize damage caused by heavy snow and cold waves during the winter countermeasure period by checking the operation status and management conditions of facilities.

The city is currently prepared for heavy snow damage with 3,710 tons of snow removal agents and 83 snow removal vehicles, and is focusing on introducing snow removal equipment and securing additional snow removal agents to activate snow removal work on side roads.

Additionally, the city operates 274 cold wave shelters mainly at senior centers within the jurisdiction, and runs cold wave mitigation facilities such as 88 heated seats and 12 windbreak screens at bus stops frequently used by citizens to prevent cold-related illnesses.

Mayor Bang Se-hwan visited the snow removal forward base in Tanbeol-dong to check the management status of snow removal agents and equipment as well as the stock of snow removal materials. Following the inspection of the snow removal forward base, he visited the Songjeong 2-tong cold wave shelter to check the operation status and heating equipment functionality, and listened to the opinions of village residents regarding shelter use to identify areas for improvement.

Mayor Bang Se-hwan stated, “We will thoroughly prepare to prevent property and human damage caused by natural disasters in winter and to respond immediately in case of disaster situations. I ask that all efforts be focused on minimizing damage caused by heavy snow and that special attention be given to protecting vulnerable groups during cold waves.”
