Hanseo University Wins 3 Innovation Awards at CES... Highest Number Among Korean Universities

Support for Hanseo University LINC 3.0 Project Group

Hanseo University won three Innovation Awards at CES 2025, the world's largest consumer electronics show.


With this, Hanseo University has received a total of 24 Innovation Awards over six years, the highest record among domestic universities. Among the award-winning works this time, two are achievements of startups founded by Hanseo University students, which is evaluated as a result of support from the Hanseo University LINC 3.0 Project Group.


The award-winning works include ▲‘Skyflight’ in the Drone category (students_ Department of Unmanned Aviation, Lee Ye-jun and three others) ▲‘Aeros’ in the Drone category (students_ Department of Unmanned Aviation, Lim Sang-hyun and two others) ▲and TAB Co., Ltd. in the Home Appliances category. These award-winning works will participate in CES 2025 held in Las Vegas, USA, from January 7 to 10, 2025, with exhibition support from the Hanseo University LINC 3.0 Project Group.


This award demonstrates that Hanseo University is globally recognized through world-class achievements. In particular, two award-winning students from Hanseo University, as representatives of startups located in Chungnam, created results recognized for their entrepreneurial activities linked to the region. These achievements were made based on not only the university’s systematic industry-academia cooperation system but also close cooperation with the local community. It is also noteworthy as the fruit of education, research, and industry-academia cooperation in the future aviation mobility industry, which is attracting attention as a future core industry.

The CES Innovation Awards are organized by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) in the United States and are internationally prestigious awards given to leading technologies and products worldwide. Through this award, Hanseo University has elevated the status of Korean universities on the global stage and presented new possibilities for innovative technology and entrepreneurial capabilities.


The Hanseo University LINC 3.0 Project Group has supported the entire process of companies through the ‘One-Stop Enterprise Support Platform Service,’ including design development, prototype production, and promotional video production, contributing to the global market entry and brand value creation of family companies. In particular, companies submitting to the CES Innovation Awards were first discovered through the Hanseo University LINC 3.0 Innovation Awards and received practical assistance such as technical support, advisory on technical difficulties, English translation, and proofreading. This support played a significant role in internationally promoting the companies’ innovation and expanding export channels.


Hahm Ki-seon, president of Hanseo University, said, “This CES 2025 Innovation Award is the result of the joint efforts of students, family companies, and the industry-academia cooperation group, and it will be an important stepping stone for Hanseo University to establish itself as a university leading global innovation.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to discover and support innovative ideas and technologies.”


Hanseo University announced that based on this achievement, it plans to solidify its leading position in the future aviation mobility field and continue efforts to leap forward as a global university beyond Korea.
