The Korea Federation of SMEs announced on the afternoon of the 19th that it signed a 'Business Agreement to Expand Financial Support for SMEs and Small Business Owners' with Shinhan Bank at the Federation's office in Yeouido, Seoul.
This agreement was made possible as part of Shinhan Financial Group's Shinhan Future AMP, which involved dispatching a Shinhan Bank headquarters director to the Federation of SMEs to discuss collaborative measures for financial support for SMEs and small business owners. Shinhan Future AMP is Shinhan Financial Group's future executive development program.
The main contents include 'providing preferential interest rates to subscribers of the Yellow Umbrella Mutual Aid, a social safety net for small businesses and small business owners,' 'providing childbirth congratulatory money to female individual business owners,' 'cooperation to resolve recruitment difficulties for SMEs and job-seeking difficulties for youth,' and 'collaboration on SME policy development.'
Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs, said, "Recently, small business owners have been struggling due to high interest rates and sluggish sales, but through this agreement, subscribers of the Yellow Umbrella Mutual Aid will be able to receive preferential interest rates (0.5 percentage points) on deposits and loans from Shinhan Bank, which will be a great help." He added, "Low birth rates are a significant social issue, but government support is centered on workers, leaving small business owners in a blind spot. It is very meaningful that Shinhan Bank provides childbirth congratulatory money to female individual business owners."
