Ministry of Culture and Korea Creative Content Agency's 'Content Intellectual Property (IP) Market'
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency will hold the 'Content Intellectual Property (IP) Market' for three days starting from the 19th at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
This business event brings together key companies from all sectors of the content industry, including webtoons, games, films, dramas, and popular music, to explore content IP video production and merchandising, overseas expansion, and collaboration with other industries.
This year's theme is 'Content Intellectual Property, New Opportunities for Expansion.' Yoon Yang-soo, Director of the Content Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated, "K-content can expand not only across sectors within the content industry but also into fields such as food and beverage, fashion, and amusement parks. Based on this potential, we will lay the foundation for K-content to grow on the global stage."
Ninety domestic and international content, distribution, and platform companies are participating in the event. On the 19th, representatives from leading content companies in Korea and Japan will present success stories utilizing content intellectual property.
Wada Joji, CEO of Wit Studio, which produced 'Attack on Titan,' will speak on 'The Frontline of the Japanese Animation Industry,' and Choi Hong-hoon, CEO of Lotte World, will discuss 'Growth of the Content Intellectual Property Industry and Lotte World.'
On the 20th, a forum on comics and webtoons will be held. Redice Studio, D&C Media, Jaedam Media, and others will share cases of business expansion by two content companies. The following day, strategies for overseas trademark registration of copyright-related content companies and K-content trademark branding will be discussed.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also supports one-on-one consultations between participating content companies and buyers. An official stated, "Approximately 1,000 consultations have already been confirmed with 635 domestic and international buyers."
