Two Types of Marshmallow Cake and Four Dessert Breads
Ranked 1st to 4th in the Category Until the 17th of This Month
Daily Sales of 118 Million KRW, 2 Billion KRW in 17 Days
GS Retail announced on the 19th that the four types of dessert breads launched by convenience store GS25 in collaboration with Netflix surpassed cumulative sales of 2 billion KRW in just 17 days.
The dessert breads collaborated with Netflix include Black Marshmallow Cake, White Marshmallow Cake, Marong Tiramisu, and Classic Tiramisu. From the 1st to the 17th of this month, these products sold 118 million KRW worth daily, ranking 1st to 4th in sales in their category. This surpassed the popular winter dessert steamed buns, which typically achieve the highest sales in the dessert bread category during the fourth quarter every year.

The dessert breads with the highest sales were the two marshmallow cakes. GS25 planned these menus with black and white concepts, borrowing the Netflix program style 'Black and White Chefs,' which divides chefs into 'Heuksujeo' (black spoon) and 'Baeksujeo' (white spoon).
Thanks to the success of the two Netflix tiramisu products, GS25’s tiramisu sales from November 1st to 17th increased 2.6 times compared to the same period last year. GS25’s tiramisu products are priced around 3,000 KRW, which the company explained helped boost demand as they are more than 20% cheaper than the same menus at dessert specialty stores.
Choi Wonpil, GS25 Dessert Bread MD, said, "The Netflix collaboration products, which have both product quality and buzzworthiness, recorded soaring sales immediately after launch, driving overall sales growth in the convenience store dessert market. We will actively pursue various collaboration activities to nurture mega-hit products, including expanding Netflix collaboration products into various categories."
