Busan City and Busan Venture Business Association Hold '2024 Venture Day'

At 5 PM on the 19th at Lotte Hotel Busan, over 200 attendees including Mayor Park Hyung-joon, Director of Busan Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, and President of Busan Venture Business Association

Mayor Park Hyung-joon: "'Busan Technology Startup Investment Center' will be a focal point for becoming a global startup hub, a new vitality for startup funds, and a healthy nourishment"

Busan City, together with the Busan Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration and the Busan Venture Business Association, will hold the ‘2024 Venture Day’ at 5 p.m. on the 19th at Lotte Hotel Busan.


This event aims to boost the pride of local venture entrepreneurs by awarding outstanding regional venture businesspeople and related institution officials, promote exchange and harmony among venture entrepreneurs, and provide a space to encourage and support each other.


About 200 people, including Mayor Park Hyung-jun, Kang Ki-seong, head of the Busan Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, Shim Sul-jin, president of the Busan Venture Business Association, as well as representatives and officials from venture companies in the Busan area, will attend.


At the awards ceremony, the ‘Busan Venture Entrepreneur Award,’ ‘New Technology Innovation Award,’ and the Busan Mayor’s Commendation for ‘Contribution to Venture Business Development’ will be presented.


The recipients of the ‘Busan Venture Entrepreneur Award’ are ▲Yeom Sang-jun, CEO of Sendy ▲Noh Jeong-seok, CEO of CSTEC ▲Kang In-cheol, CEO of Elscom ▲Jung Gil-yong, CEO of Taeyoung Vanguard ▲Song Jeong-ung, CEO of LiveX. According to the ‘Ordinance on the Treatment and Promotion of Corporate Activities for Entrepreneurs in Busan Metropolitan City,’ awardees receive a certificate of excellence, preferential support for small business operating and development funds, and special credit guarantee support, enjoying preferential treatment and support as outstanding entrepreneurs for three years.


A total of four people were selected for the ‘New Technology Innovation Award.’ The Minister of SMEs and Startups Award went to ▲Hong Seong-bak, CEO of Bugok Stainless ▲Noh Jin-gu, CEO of Wonjong Machinery ▲Park Mal-yong, CEO of Mytec, and the Busan Mayor’s Award went to ▲Kim Dong-su, president of Saeron Tech.


The recipients of the Busan Mayor’s Commendation for ‘Contribution to Venture Business Development’ are ▲Chae Gwan-seon, secretary general of the Busan branch of the Venture Business Association ▲Shin Gyeong-jin, quantum cloud team leader at the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency.


For the ‘Public Technology Commercialization Innovation Award,’ the Minister of Science and ICT Award was given to ▲Jin Jong-geun, CEO of DH Controls ▲Jung Seung, CEO of CIT ▲Dong-Eui University Technology Holdings, and the Chairman of the Research and Development Special Zone Promotion Foundation Award went to ▲Woo Chang-su, CEO of Sungil SIM ▲Jung Myung-hwan, CEO of Double O ▲Busan United Technology Holdings.


Shim Sul-jin, president of the Busan Venture Business Association, said, “I am pleased and grateful to meet the respected venture entrepreneurs of Busan and the outstanding entrepreneurs honored with awards for their excellent achievements all in one place. I extend my congratulations and support to the awardees, who are the protagonists today, and to all venture entrepreneurs who form the foundation of Busan’s economy.”


Mayor Park Hyung-jun sent congratulations and encouragement to the awardees, stating, “Our city is preparing to launch the ‘Busan Technology Startup Investment Center’ in the first half of next year. The ‘Busan Technology Startup Investment Center’ will serve as a hub for a ‘global startup ecosystem’ covering everything from pre-startup to growth and investment.” He added, “Busan’s startup funds are also increasing dramatically. In particular, through the ‘Busan Future Growth Venture Fund,’ the formation and investment of a large-scale fund of 300 billion KRW, the largest ever in the region, will inject new vitality into Busan companies and serve as healthy nourishment for the growth of venture businesses.”
