Woori Asset Management has introduced a short-term bond exchange-traded fund (ETF) that aims to simultaneously pursue stability and profitability in the domestic short-term financial market.

Woori Asset Management to Launch 'WON Jeondanchae Plus Active ETF' on the 19th

On the 19th, Woori Asset Management announced that it will list the ‘WON Short-Term Bond Plus Active ETF,’ which primarily invests in short-term electronic bonds (STB) and commercial paper (CP), on the Korea Exchange. This ETF’s portfolio is composed of selected high-quality short-term bonds and commercial paper with maturities within three months.

The benchmark index is the ‘KIS-Woori Short-Term Electronic Bond PLUS Index,’ which combines KIS Bond Evaluation and Woori Asset Management’s expertise to target a higher yield to maturity (YTM) compared to the base interest rate and lower volatility.

Known as a ‘bond specialist,’ Woori Asset Management leverages its extensive bond management know-how and rigorous risk management system to pursue returns higher than regular deposits through this short-term bond ETF.

Another feature of the ‘Short-Term Bond Plus ETF’ is that it allows individual investors easy access to high-quality short-term bonds and commercial paper, which are typically difficult to approach.

Seo Bo-min, Head of Bond Management Division 1 at Woori Asset Management, stated, “‘WON Short-Term Bond Plus Active ETF’ will enhance accessibility to short-term bonds and commercial paper, which are difficult for individual investors to manage on their own, and provide an opportunity to generate stable returns in the short-term financial market.”
