The Busan Digital Innovation Academy (BDIA) is an educational support project in which the city aims to nurture 10,000 highly skilled personnel in the information and communication technology (ICT) field within the region over five years ('22?'26) and connect them to quality jobs.
Since the pilot project started in 2021, 1,516 talents were trained in 2023, with 973 employed (employment rate 64.2%). As of the end of October this year, 1,566 people are undergoing training (736 completed, 830 in progress).
This event is part of the Busan Digital Innovation Academy project and is designed as a meeting place for job seekers and employers, where about 80 hiring companies from Busan and the metropolitan area, BDIA graduates, and ICT job seekers can communicate and connect for employment.
Now in its third year, the Busan Digital Innovation Academy Job Fair is held in cooperation with IBK Industrial Bank, which supports job matching through its recruitment information site (i-ONE JOB), facilitating everything from pre-matching to on-site interviews to ensure recruitment aligns with companies' talent needs.
Participating companies include 80 firms such as WINS and Samwoo Immersion, 9 educational training institutions including KT, Korea Information Security Education Center, and Megazone Cloud, as well as 9 companies like Samsung Heavy Industries, KT, and Wanted that will share and introduce new technologies and industry trends in the digital field.
The event consists of ▲'Talent Matching' to support employment in the ICT field ▲'BDIA Youth Talk' themed "Challenge as a Developer, Becoming the Wave of Busan Innovation" ▲an academic conference introducing new digital technologies and industry trends ▲and an exhibition of works from the 'Software (SW) Development Contest.'
In 'Talent Matching,' job seekers who register in advance will be connected with hiring companies beforehand, allowing various interviews including technical skill assessments on-site. On-site registration and interviews are also possible.
Notably, this year a 'Coaching Chat' will be operated at the current employee counseling (mentoring) booth, where job seekers can learn one-on-one about job duties and receive advice on necessary competencies from current employees of ICT major companies, large unicorn startups, financial institutions, and system integration (SI) companies. This is open to BDIA graduates as well as all ICT job seekers.
In 'BDIA Youth Talk,' BDIA youth will share vivid success stories including employment, entrepreneurship, domestic and international competition awards, and share ICT policy updates from the city, along with company representatives, discussing challenges and keys to success in employment.
The 'Academic Conference' includes ▲digital transformation innovation strategies for manufacturing companies ▲employment special lectures (introducing company-specific employment strategies and trends) ▲and introductions to IT development job roles.
Participating companies include Samsung Heavy Industries, KT, LG CNS, and Wanted Lab.
The 'Software Development Contest' involves developing apps and websites using ICT with the theme of enhancing citizens' happiness and convenience. Outstanding teams were selected through online and offline consultations and two rounds of evaluations. Excellent works from each university and fresh ideas from young developers can be seen here.
Additionally, side events such as ▲ICT Challenge Golden Bell ▲Survival Game (Lucky JOB Flag) ▲AI interviews ▲resume and self-introduction letter consultations ▲personal color diagnosis ▲and ID photo shooting will be held. Interviewees will receive an interview support fund of 10,000 KRW.
Participation in the event is possible through pre-registration on the official website, and on-site registration is also available at the event reception desk on the day.
