The 'Ant Angel Donation Campaign' began in 2015 through a four-party agreement between Yongin City, the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea, Yongin Cheoin Senior Welfare Center, and Yongin Volunteer Center. Public officials from the city and its affiliated organizations, citizens, social and religious groups, and businesses participate in the donation activities. Donations of at least 1,004 KRW per person per month are collected through the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea, and once a certain amount is accumulated, it is used to support low-income families and social welfare facilities.

With the funds raised this time, the city provided living expenses, medical expenses, and housing costs to 37 households selected based on recommendations from each eup, myeon, dong, and the Yongin Cheoin Senior Welfare Center. The recipients are families in crisis living in welfare blind spots with an income below 120% of the median income standard. Living expenses were supported for one month (1.83 million KRW for a family of four) based on the 2024 emergency living support benefit standards. Medical expenses of up to 3 million KRW were provided to households requiring surgery, hospitalization, treatment, or dental care, and housing costs of up to 3 million KRW were given to households facing eviction due to auction or unpaid monthly rent.

A city official said, "We thank everyone who participated in the donation campaign for the local community," adding, "We will make sure that no neighbors are left out in welfare blind spots."

Meanwhile, in the first half of this year, the city supported 35 low-income households with 42.31 million KRW in donations.
