On the 18th, Hyundai Steel's Dangjin Steelworks delivered kimchi made for kimjang (traditional kimchi-making) to local welfare facilities and low-income households at the Dangjin City Welfare Town, spreading warmth throughout the community.

The kimjang kimchi sharing activity has been one of Dangjin Steelworks' representative social contribution programs, held annually since 2011.

The event was attended by around 80 people, including Hyundai Steel Vice President Kim Wonbae, Dangjin Mayor Oh Seonghwan, Hyundai Steel executives and employees, officials from Dangjin City, and the Dangjin City Welfare Foundation.

The kimjang kimchi prepared by Dangjin Steelworks was worth approximately 37 million won, totaling 10 tons. The kimchi was mainly made using napa cabbage, radish, and green onions grown in Dangjin, as well as domestically produced salted seafood and ginger.

Volunteers delivered the prepared kimjang kimchi to 44 partner welfare facilities and 130 low-income households in a drive-through format.

A Hyundai Steel representative said, "We hope the kimchi delivered today will be a great help in providing hearty meals for our neighbors," adding, "We hope everyone enjoys a warm winter with healthy food."

Over the past 14 years, Dangjin Steelworks has delivered about 138 tons of kimjang kimchi to local welfare facilities and low-income households in the community.

This year, in addition to kimjang kimchi, the summer kimchi sharing activity was also resumed for the first time in four years.

Last June, the Majungmul Housewives Volunteer Group, consisting of Dangjin Steelworks employees and their spouses, together with volunteers from the Saemaeul Movement Dangjin Chapter, delivered 4 tons of homemade cucumber water kimchi to 200 households, including families of veterans and elderly people living alone.
