On the 18th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the ‘2024 Resident Autonomy Best Practices Sharing and Meritorious Service Award Ceremony’ at the Changwon Convention Center, attended by over 200 resident autonomy committee members.

Changwon Special City Holds Ceremony for Sharing Excellent Cases of Resident Autonomy and Award Presentation.

This event was organized to strengthen autonomy capabilities through sharing excellent cases of resident autonomy in Changwon City and to express gratitude for the resident autonomy committees' contributions to the local community.

The event opened with presentations of outstanding resident autonomy cases from ▲Bongnim-dong, Uichang-gu ▲Odong-dong, Masanhappo-gu ▲Yangdeok 2-dong, Masanhoewon-gu, which won awards at the ‘6th Gyeongsangnam-do Resident Autonomy Expo’ competition.

Following this, participants watched a video documenting Changwon City’s resident autonomy activities over the past year, reflected on the year gone by, and presented plaques of appreciation to the resident autonomy chairpersons whose terms expire at the end of 2024. Additionally, 55 resident autonomy committee members who made significant contributions to the activation of resident autonomy and the local community were awarded commendation plaques.

The more than 200 resident autonomy committee members who participated in the event sent off their hopeful messages for the development of resident autonomy by releasing sky lanterns, wishing for a more advanced resident autonomy committee in 2025, thus concluding the event.
