Gwangju Urban Corporation Wins Grand Prize at Housing Welfare Culture Awards

Recognition of Achievements in Customized Housing Welfare for Stable Housing of the Common People

Gwangju Urban Corporation recently announced on the 18th that it received the 'Grand Prize' in the institution category along with the Chairman of the Health and Welfare Committee Award at the 2024 Housing Welfare Culture Awards held at the National Assembly Library. The Housing Welfare Culture Awards are hosted by the Housing Welfare Culture Movement Headquarters and sponsored by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

Now in its 7th year, this year's Housing Welfare Culture Awards ceremony is held annually to promote the efforts and achievements of institutions and individuals dedicated to forming housing welfare communities and realizing a housing welfare culture.

Gwangju Urban Corporation was recognized for various programs aimed at stabilizing housing for low-income residents. In particular, it was acknowledged for its contributions to spreading housing welfare culture through the green remodeling project that enhances energy efficiency for 3,500 aging permanent rental housing units and customized welfare promotion programs for vulnerable groups, making it the only one among 15 urban development corporations nationwide to receive the grand prize.
