'Paper' Disappears from Pyeongtaek City Hall

Introduction of Smart Administration... Expected Budget Savings

Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 18th that it will create a "paperless office" to implement smart administration and reduce budget costs.

Previously, Pyeongtaek City had been using tablet PCs for meetings and electronic banners since last year. The city plans to actively utilize electronic devices for approval forms and report writing going forward. Through this, the city expects to contribute to carbon neutrality by reducing single-use paper prints and the use of large copy paper.

The city also expects to save budget through this initiative. Starting next year, the city plans to analyze the usage of multifunction printers for administrative tasks, adjust the number of printers accordingly, and reallocate appropriate printers based on each department's usage, aiming to save about 100 million KRW over the next three years.

Jung Jang-seon, mayor of Pyeongtaek City, said, "Creating a paperless office is a policy that can enhance administrative efficiency, save budget, and practice carbon neutrality," adding, "We will continue to pursue various efforts to save resources and improve administrative efficiency."
