Request to Government for Promise and Prompt Implementation of Establishing a National Medical University
The Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch of the Korean National Tuberculosis Association expressed deep gratitude on the 18th for the decision by Mokpo National University and Suncheon National University to agree on the 'Establishment of an Integrated Medical School.'
The Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch of the Korean National Tuberculosis Association stated, "The magnanimous decision by Mokpo National University and Suncheon National University is the result of the earnest wishes and urgent desire of 2 million residents of Jeollanam-do that a national medical school must be established in the province, beyond regional interests," and urged, "We ask both universities to join hands and work vigorously until the integrated medical school is established."
The branch requested, "The government should promptly fulfill its promise to establish a national medical school in Jeollanam-do, which has been the wish and hope of the residents for the past 30 years."
It added, "Within the region, we hope both universities will cooperate and unite in spirit to successfully establish the integrated medical school, and that Jeollanam-do will provide full support for the establishment of the integrated medical school to secure the health and life rights of all residents."
Meanwhile, the Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch of the Korean National Tuberculosis Association pledged to make every effort to actively promote the unified will for the establishment of the national medical school, even if the institutions are different, through SNS, their website, and media coverage.
