A Special Meeting with a Box Office Director: Delivering a 'Message of Dreams and Challenges'
Jang Jae-hyun, director of ‘Pamyo,’ the first domestic occult film to attract over 10 million viewers, visited his hometown Yeongju City to support the dreams of his alma mater juniors.
On the 18th, Yeongju City, Gyeongbuk, invited Director Jang to Daeyeong High School to conduct a ‘Customized Career Special Lecture’ for current students.
This special lecture was organized as part of the ‘Our Children’s Hope Design Project,’ funded by Yeongju City’s local extinction response fund. Under the moderation of comedian Lee Sang-hoon, an alumnus of Daeyeong High School, Director Jang held a talk concert with the juniors about dreams and career paths.
Director Jang candidly shared his journey to becoming a film director, encouraging the juniors by saying, “It is important to set goals and take steps forward as if directing your own life,” and added, “Though the journey is not easy, consistent effort ultimately becomes the power to achieve your dreams.”
Comedian Lee Sang-hoon reflected on his school days and cheered on the juniors’ dreams, saying, “High school is an important time to explore various possibilities. Don’t be afraid of your dreams and challenge yourself freely.”
A city official expressed gratitude, saying, “We thank Director Jang Jae-hyun for taking time out of his busy schedule to support his alma mater juniors,” and added, “We will continue to provide opportunities for students to communicate with experts and design a better future.”
Yeongju City is accelerating the creation of a glocal education city by continuously hosting events such as customized entrance exam briefings for the 2025 academic year, briefings on the high school credit system and the 2028 college admission reform plan, and customized career special lectures through the ‘Our Children’s Hope Design Project.’
