Dongducheon City Holds Communication and Harmony Workshop with Public Officials Labor Union

Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 18th that it held the ‘2024 Public Officials Labor-Management Harmony Capacity Building Workshop’ last week in collaboration with the Dongducheon City Public Officials Labor Union (Chairman Kim Young-ran).

The workshop took place in the Cheorwon County area of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, with about 30 participants including executives and delegates of the Dongducheon City Public Officials Labor Union, representatives from both labor and management sides, and officials from the Public Officials Labor Union Federation.

First, the workshop featured a special lecture titled ‘The Role of Public Officials Labor Unions’ by Lee Chung-jae, Chair of External Cooperation at an international relief organization, held in the small auditorium of the Cheorwon Comprehensive Cultural Welfare Center. In the afternoon, participants visited Goseokjeong and Soisan, spending time together through various experiential activities to foster harmony.

Kim Young-ran, Chairman of the Dongducheon City Public Officials Labor Union, said, “I hope this workshop will serve as an opportunity to activate communication between labor and management, and we will do our best to improve working conditions and enhance employee welfare for union members.”

Han Ok-seok, Director of the Autonomous Administration Bureau, stated, “I hope that labor and management will continue to build a solid trust relationship through harmony, and furthermore, join forces for the happiness of Dongducheon citizens and the development of the city.”
