The film , which attracted 1.23 million viewers domestically and achieved box office success, is returning to fans once again as the fantasy musical .
SAMG Entertainment (CEO Kim Suhoon, hereafter SAMG Entertainment) announced on the 18th that the film has been reborn as a fantasy musical combined with magic, and will be performed from January 8 to February 16 next year. Ticket reservations will be available from 11 a.m. on the 19th through Interpark and Clip Service.
In particular, this musical is drawing more attention as Lee Eungyeol, an outstanding storyteller and Korea’s No.1 world-recognized illusionist, is in charge of the overall direction.
The musical , directed by Lee Eungyeol, is expected to evoke a fantasy performance depicting an original and rich stage expression and a fantastic adventure by actively incorporating magical direction that realizes the imagination from the film into reality.
Along with this, vivid direction that makes scenes from the animated film appear as if unfolding right before the eyes will be implemented. Boldly departing from the traditional method of acting while wearing character masks, the use of puppetry (puppet object theater) will maximize the unique charm of the Tinyping characters and stimulate the audience’s imagination.
This musical involves Korea’s top production team, led by director Kim Dongyeon, who has worked across genres including musicals and plays from to the recent , family musical director Hong Seunghui of , , , , , and puppet master and authority in puppet theater director Moon Jaehee.
Illusionist Lee Eungyeol, who directed the musical , said, “The film was successful in theaters because it was a movie that adults also enjoyed,” and added, “This musical is also being created with the highest quality by mobilizing all the large-scale illusion techniques accumulated so far, together with the best production team in Korea, so that the entire family audience can enjoy it together.”
