Gyeonggi Paju Regional Self-Sufficiency Center (hereinafter Self-Sufficiency Center) and Seoyoung University (hereinafter Seoyoung University) announced on the 18th that they conducted specialized safety training on the 15th at the Self-Sufficiency Center training hall for about 20 self-sufficiency participants to enhance safety awareness and response capabilities.

This training, jointly promoted by the Department of Fire Safety and the Future Lifelong Education Institute of Seoyoung University, was designed to create a safe working environment by providing knowledge and skills necessary not only for the workplace environment, such as fire prevention, response methods, and fire extinguisher usage, but also for daily life.

In particular, this training was conducted based on the mutual business agreement signed by the two institutions in 2022 to cooperate in various fields, including the operation of employment education programs. Starting in 2025, regular monthly training tailored to the characteristics of each self-sufficiency workplace will be promoted, focusing on improving the recognition of risk factors and accident prevention abilities in the working environment of self-sufficiency participants.

Professor Lee Jeong-gyun of the Department of Fire Safety at Seoyoung University stated, “We will spare no effort to provide systematic educational support so that participants can acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for a safe working environment.” Kim Juwon, director of the Self-Sufficiency Center, said, “We plan to expand various programs to cultivate residents’ self-reliance capabilities and safety awareness through continuous cooperation.”

Kwon Yeja, head of the Welfare Support Division, said, “I hope that this collaborative training project, conducted ahead of the full-scale winter season, will become a meaningful starting point that greatly contributes to the safe living and progressive working environment of self-sufficiency participants.”
