Incheon Namdong-gu Supports Youth Who Gave Up Job Searching... Achievements in Employment and Startups

Namdong-gu, Incheon announced on the 18th that its support project for the labor market re-entry of young people who have given up job searching is showing results.

Through the '2024 Youth Challenge Support Project,' the district produced 67 graduates, accounting for 93% of all participants. This project provides customized programs to young people whose motivation to seek jobs has declined due to employment failure, career breaks, lack of confidence, and other reasons, thereby boosting their job-seeking motivation.

The district has provided a customized employment support program of up to 200 hours over 25 weeks to 72 young people who had given up job searching, helping them return to the labor market. Additionally, a program was arranged to visit five companies located in the Namdong National Industrial Complex, broadening participants' understanding of various jobs and industries through meetings with current employees.

Among the 67 final graduates, 19 succeeded in employment or starting their own businesses, and 10 are continuing vocational education by participating in programs such as the National Employment Support System.

The district plans to continue thorough follow-up management to ensure participants' employment success, including linking with the National Employment Support System, registering job seekers through the Employment 24 website, and providing employment service guidance.

Park Jong-hyo, the district mayor, stated, "We will continue to implement support policies to ease the difficulties of youth job searching and help them participate successfully in the labor market without social exclusion."
