Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced on the 18th that it held the ‘2024 Silver Police Union Revitalization Conference’ on the 15th at the Citizen Hall Grand Theater to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Silver Police Union.

At the revitalization conference, invited guests including the Mayor of Paju and the President of the Korea Senior Citizens Association Paju Branch, along with about 400 Silver Police regional members from 20 eup, myeon, and dong districts, attended to celebrate the 20th anniversary event.
In the first part of the revitalization conference, Park Jong-hye, Director of the Korea Aging Society Education Institute, was invited to give a lecture on the theme “Let’s live a rewarding and wonderful old age.”
In the second part, based on the evaluation results of the Silver Police regional units, Gwangtan-myeon was selected as the best regional unit, and Jori-eup, Wollong-myeon, and Unjeong 3-dong were selected as excellent regional units and received certificates. Additionally, 44 exemplary members who actively participated in Silver Police regional activities with outstanding volunteer spirit and the Geumchon 2-dong volunteer group were awarded commendations.
Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju said, “I sincerely thank all Silver Police regional members who have consistently practiced service and sharing with love for Paju over the past 20 years,” and added, “Paju City will carefully take care of senior welfare and do its best so that all Paju citizens can enjoy a basic quality of life.”
Meanwhile, the Paju Silver Police Union is a senior volunteer organization that started in 2005 with 50 members in Geumchon 1-dong and currently has over 500 members across 20 eup, myeon, and dong districts, performing volunteer activities such as maintaining cleanliness at bus stops and public parking lots.
