SK C&C Holds 'Happy Spec UP Challenge' Awards Ceremony to Enhance Employment Skills for Students with Disabilities

SK C&C announced on the 18th that it held an awards ceremony for the employment competency enhancement project "Happy Spec UP Challenge," aimed at helping students with disabilities enter society.

Students who achieved outstanding results in the challenge were awarded the Minister of Health and Welfare Award, SK C&C President Award, Korea Disabled Rehabilitation Association President Award, and Excellence Awards.

The Happy Spec UP Challenge was designed as a competency build-up project tailored to each student's career goals, targeting the "SK C&C Happy IT Scholarship" recipients. The Happy IT Scholarship has been operated since 2005 through voluntary donations from SK C&C employees to strengthen the digital skills of students with disabilities and support their stable entry into society. To date, a total of 1.64 billion KRW has been provided, and 1,007 scholarship recipients have been produced.

Fourteen students participated in this challenge. Various job competency enhancement activities such as external expert lectures, mentoring by SK C&C employees, and company experience were conducted.

The external expert lectures provided opportunities to explore and discover the competencies required for desired job roles. Additionally, SK C&C employees participated as mentors, sharing practical knowledge and experience to help students build professional skills in various fields. A visit to the SK C&C headquarters and an internal tour program were also held.

Students participating in the challenge also gained internship experience at research institutions aligned with their career goals, including digital healthcare research, artificial intelligence (AI) research and development, and robotics research internships.

Shin Yong-woon, Head of ESG Strategy at SK C&C, said, "We plan to continuously expand various customized education and support programs so that students with disabilities can grow into competitive talents."
