Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry Collaborates to Promote Namcheon and Businesses in Changwon National Industrial Complex and Protect the Environment
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, together with the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, held a plogging event to create a clean and beautiful Changwon and promoted Namcheon and local businesses within the Changwon National Industrial Complex.
Namcheon is a representative stream of Changwon that originates from Bulmosan Mountain, crosses the Changwon National Industrial Complex, and flows into Masan Bay. Over the past 50 years since the industrial complex was established, it has served as a resting place for workers and citizens.
The plogging event held on the 16th marked the 50th anniversary of the designation of the Changwon National Industrial Complex and was part of a private-led corporate love movement practice project, with about 300 participants including businesspeople and citizens. Starting from the event held at the SNT Dynamics 2nd parking lot, participants walked a round trip of 4 km from Mokdonggyo Bridge on Namcheon to Yacheongyo Bridge (in front of Hyundai Wia Plant 1), collecting trash along the roadside and within the stream as part of environmental cleanup activities.
Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, said, “We will strive to transform Namcheon and Changwoncheon into spaces where citizens can enjoy leisure and rest, turning the industrial complex into a convergence space where culture and industry harmonize, not just a workplace, to create a sustainable industrial complex for the future.”
Meanwhile, the private-led corporate love movement practice project is an annual initiative promoted by Changwon City and the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry through the Corporate Love Council to boost corporate morale and create a business-friendly environment by spreading the corporate love movement among citizens.
