This Winter's Goal: 2.15 Billion KRW... Songpa-gu Launches 'Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign' Fundraising

Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced on November 15 that it held the unveiling ceremony of the ‘Love Thermometer’ in the lobby on the first floor of Songpa-gu Office and launched the fundraising campaign for ‘2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter.’

Every year, the district conducts fundraising activities in cooperation with the Seoul Community Chest of Korea to help neighbors in need. Last year, the district raised 2.38 billion KRW in donations and goods, delivering warm support to low-income families and neighbors in welfare blind spots within the region.

This year’s target amount is 2.15 billion KRW. The fundraising period started with the unveiling ceremony of the ‘Love Thermometer’ held on the 15th and will continue for three months until February 14 of next year.

The unveiling ceremony proceeded in the following order: ▲Declaration of project commencement ▲Unveiling of the thermometer ▲Congratulatory performance ▲Presentation ceremony of the first donor’s donation and goods ▲Fundraising ▲Distribution of Love Piggy Banks.

Notably, the first donor this year was Lotte Chilsung Beverage Gangdong Branch, participating again after last year. They delivered piggy banks and employee sponsorship funds collected from 22 stores since March to help children suffering from food insecurity.

Additionally, supporting organizations that brightened the event included Korea Environmental Development, which has supported disinfection at senior centers in Songpa-gu for several years by donating funds; Bayer, which sponsored 3,000 joint supplements for the elderly; and CK Artworks, which donated musical tickets for cultural performances for local children and people with disabilities.

The ‘Love Thermometer’ rises by 1℃ toward the fundraising goal of 2.15 billion KRW, showing the real-time temperature of sharing in Songpa-gu.

Individuals, groups, and companies wishing to donate can apply through the fundraising counters set up at the Welfare Policy Division of Songpa-gu Office or the local community service centers in their residential areas. Also, by scanning the QR codes attached at various fundraising counters, donors can conveniently participate using credit cards, bank transfers, or simple payment methods.

Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “Winter is the most difficult time for those in need,” and added, “I ask all residents to warmly participate in ‘Hope Ondol Warm Winter’ so that we can spend a warm winter together with our neighbors.”
