BC Card and Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation Enhance Policy Impact with Card-Type Public Payment Service

BC Card announced on the 18th that it plans to introduce a card-type public payment service to enhance the effectiveness of government policies in collaboration with the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation. The business agreement ceremony held on the afternoon of the 15th at BC Card headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, was attended by key figures from both companies, including Choi Won-seok, CEO of BC Card, and Sung Chang-hoon, President of the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation.

Through this collaboration, the two companies plan to launch a card-type public payment service specialized for government policies starting January next year. Policy beneficiaries will be able to experience government policies in a more convenient and familiar way, while the government and local governments are expected to effectively achieve policy goals such as eliminating welfare blind spots and improving the efficiency of allowance operations.

The two companies also plan to continuously discover additional synergies that can be demonstrated in the public payment sector and actively contribute to enhancing social benefits.

Previously, BC Card provided payment infrastructure for card-type local love gift certificates promoted by the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation, Suhyup Bank, Credit Unions, and Saemaeul Geumgo, based on the industry's largest number of affiliated merchants. As of June, the number of merchants affiliated with BC Card was counted at 3.46 million.

Choi Won-seok, CEO of BC Card, stated, "BC Card has established itself as a key partner in enhancing public convenience through public payment infrastructure specialized in policy areas such as emergency disaster relief funds, Green Card, and K-Pass, along with abundant know-how. We will continue to actively strive to enhance social benefits that can be felt by the government, local governments, and citizens through card-type public payment infrastructure."
