Webzen Introduces Upcoming Title 'Dragon Sword'... "Striving to Blend Story and Action"

Webzen introduced the action role-playing game (RPG) 'Dragon Sword,' currently in development, at Korea's largest game exhibition, 'G-STAR 2024.'

At the joint press conference held on the 15th, Park Jeong-sik, CEO of Hound 13, explained about Dragon Sword, "It is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 as a multi-platform game supporting both PC and mobile," adding, "We are putting great effort into integrating story and action into the game."

He continued, "The exact schedule has not been decided yet, but we are developing it so that we can showcase it in some form around next year."

Dragon Sword is being developed by Hound 13. Webzen made an investment of 30 billion KRW in January and will also handle the publishing of Dragon Sword. The game is set in a world where dragons and humans are in conflict and features content such as open world and puzzles.

CEO Park emphasized, "We will continue the know-how we have accumulated in action games and strive to harmoniously balance the newly challenged world elements to create a great game."

He added, "In the long term, if the game is well completed, we are considering consoles as well," and said, "Although not immediately, we are reviewing the direction to refine the game enough to be played well on consoles and expand into that market."

CEO Park also mentioned, "There may still be many shortcomings in the game as it is under development," and added, "We want to listen to feedback and diligently refine the game during the remaining period to make it enjoyable to play."
