The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province utilized 'customized regional statistics consulting' to produce bioindustry regional statistics and established plans to collect and utilize the analyzed data.
In November last year, Suwon was selected for the 'Customized Statistics Consulting' project by the Gyeongin Regional Statistics Office and conducted the project from March to October this year in collaboration with the Gyeongin Regional Statistics Office's Regional Statistics Division and a panel of expert advisors. Customized statistics consulting is a project that diagnoses the statistical infrastructure of local governments in specific fields and proposes development plans.
During this consulting, the Gyeongin Regional Statistics Office analyzed domestic bioindustry statistics and survey status and provided various population construction methods and survey design guidelines necessary for compiling Suwon's bioindustry statistics.
Suwon plans to use this to establish a basic plan for the bioindustry and to comprehensively review utilization and linkage plans for corporate surveys and other purposes.
Suwon aims to revitalize the bioindustry centered around Gwanggyo and create an advanced bio innovation city. In January this year, it established a dedicated bio task force (TF) and carried out activities such as ▲applying for national public projects ▲hosting Bio Week events ▲operating the Gwanggyo Bio Innovation Valley Promotion Council.
