Sales of Crystal Ornaments, Tableware, and Jewelry
Shinsegae International announced on the 15th that it has signed a domestic distribution contract with the French luxury brand LALIQUE and opened its first standalone store on the 9th floor of Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam.
LALIQUE is a brand with a tradition of over 140 years, founded in 1888 by Ren? Lalique, a famous French jeweler and glass artist. Recognized for its outstanding craftsmanship and artistry, Ren? Lalique is known as the "Founder of Modern Jewelry" and a "Great Artist," having revolutionized jewelry and glass art. The brand is known for producing some of the most beautiful crystal products in the world.
The LALIQUE store located on the 9th floor of Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam will showcase the essence of exquisite crystal crafts across various categories, including ▲ crystal lifestyle decorations such as vases and sculptures ▲ tableware such as decanters and wine glasses ▲ jewelry such as rings, earrings, and necklaces ▲ and the LALIQUE Art Collection created in collaboration with artists.
The signature product, the "Bacchantes" vase, is an iconic piece that combines the brand’s exceptional sculpting skills and artistic value. It was first designed in 1927 by Ren? Lalique, expressing the voluptuous beauty of the priestess Bacchante, and has been cherished for over 100 years. Producing one vase requires at least 10 skilled artisans and takes a total of 15 days.
The fish-shaped sculpture, first designed by Ren? Lalique in 1913, has become the most important and symbolic piece in the LALIQUE collection. It delicately and vividly expresses the curves and natural movement of the fish and is presented in various colors of crystal.
A representative from Shinsegae International said, “Through the launch of LALIQUE, we have expanded our business scope by adding a high-end luxury lifestyle brand to our portfolio. We plan to continuously introduce various luxury brands tailored to the sophisticated and segmented tastes of domestic customers.”
Meanwhile, LALIQUE’s works can be found at the luxury lifestyle edit shop “Boondeshop Mezzanine” at House of Shinsegae.
