On the 13th, Kim Seong-hwan, CEO of Korea Investment & Securities, said this at the 'KIS Night in Hongkong 2024' held in Hong Kong, emphasizing, "Our mission is to provide the best financial products that meet our customers' needs, and I am confident that the answer lies in the global market."
KIS Night is a corporate presentation (IR) event organized independently by Korea Investment & Securities to discover new investment opportunities in the Asian financial market and expand networks with global investors. It was held as a side event of the 'Invest K-Finance Hong Kong IR 2024' hosted by the Financial Supervisory Service on the same day.
About 100 representatives from leading global financial investment institutions in the region attended, including Lee Bok-hyun, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service, Kevin Snyder, Chairman of Goldman Sachs Asia Pacific, and XD Yang, Chairman and Managing Director of Carlyle Asia. Attendees discussed the growth potential and investment opportunities of the Korean financial market and exchanged various opinions on mutual cooperation and partnership building.
Lee Bok-hyun, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service, said, "Korea Investment & Securities is the most proactive among domestic securities firms in expanding its global business," adding, "We expect it to play a significant role in strengthening partnerships with various financial institutions in Hong Kong and creating strong synergies between the Korean and Hong Kong financial markets."
As part of its core business strategy, Korea Investment & Securities established a Global Business Group earlier this year to strengthen its presence in the global market. In particular, ‘SF Credit Partners,’ established in 2023, is actively targeting the U.S. local acquisition finance and private debt (PD) markets. Additionally, based on strategic alliances with global financial companies such as Carlyle, the company is focusing on building a global product supply ecosystem that discovers and provides excellent investment products.
Meanwhile, Korea Investment & Securities’ Hong Kong local subsidiary (KIS ASIA) has expanded its business areas aiming to become an 'Asian financial hub,' including stock brokerage, proprietary trading, equity-linked securities (ELS) hedge management, overseas alternative investment products, and corporate finance (IB) deal sourcing. Recently, it has started global high-yield bond issuance sales targeting Asian issuers, in addition to overseas acquisition finance and alternative investments.
