Gyeonggi-do Releases Checklist for 'Safe Jeonse and Wolse Contracts' for Single-Person Households

A checklist that single-person households can use to self-assess for safe living, from jeonse and monthly rent contracts to safety inspections around the home after moving, has been released.

Gyeonggi Province has published the ‘Single-Person Household Residential Safety Checklist,’ developed to prevent jeonse fraud targeting single-person households and to support safe residential living, on the province’s single-person household portal (www.gg.go.kr/1ingg).

The released checklist includes essential items to verify at each stage such as ▲before signing the jeonse or monthly rent contract ▲on the contract day ▲on the payment day, as well as precautions to take during the contract period.

Before signing the contract, it is necessary to check whether the real estate agent is registered, the convenience of transportation and the surrounding environment of the house to be rented, the appropriate market price, priority rights, and the building register. On the contract day, verify the landlord’s identity, recheck the rights on the full registry certificate, confirm whether the landlord has any tax arrears, carefully review the contract contents, and after signing, report the housing lease contract.
