Gwangju City announced on the 14th that it will hold the "2024 Civil Society Network Festival," where the meaning and value of civil society and public interest activities can be shared, on the 16th at Jeonil Building 245.
This event, themed "Welcome Public Interest Activities, Nice to Meet You Civil Society," will be attended by about 1,000 people including civil society organization activists and citizens.
It is the first festival prepared by uniting the power of Gwangju's civil society to promote the value of public interest activities such as environment, education, human rights, and social welfare.
There will be an archive exhibition showcasing the footsteps of civil society and a public interest activity network. In addition, customized booths for each civil society sector will be operated to make it easy to access the value of public interest activities. Events such as photo zones, stamp tours, and souvenir giveaways will also be prepared.
Son Myeong-hee, Director of the Civil Communication Division of Gwangju City, said, "Gwangju is a city where civil society is actively engaged, and this festival is an opportunity for citizens to directly participate, reflect on the meaning of public interest activities, and create social value together." She added, "We hope that through the festival, citizens will take an interest in public interest activities and have opportunities to contribute to solving social problems."
